Treatment
Surgery is known to be effective in treating the disease and this can usually be performed laparoscopically (keyhole surgery) although occasionally traditional open surgery is required.
Other treatments can ease the symptoms. For women who suffer primarily from period pain, taking pain medication such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen can ease symptoms. There are also hormonal therapies available to reduce the symptoms, including some types of The Pill. Some women have also found relief through alternative treatments such as homeopathy, acupuncture, and massage. Many women have also reported that dietary changes and regular exercise have helped them.
